August 2008

I’m taking this weekend off from going to any sales.  Just going to enjoy the long holiday weekend, we’re going to the South Pier Labor Day Festival in the morning.  Then spend some time,….and money of course at the Sheboygan County Fair tomorrow afternoon into the evening.

It was a great day yesterday, oh so comfy temperatures, the sun was out all day and only a few clouds floating by.  There were quite a few people meandering about, carrying some of their new treasures they purchased and the faint sound of panpipes occasionally from where we were set-up…..relaxing.   It was very nice of the Wade House to provide the shuttle service, especially since we (the vendors) were parked off in the ‘back-40′, lol.  Otherwise I think I’d still be there hiking back to get the vehicle.
A Big Thank You to everyone who stopped by and bought something from me.   And thanks to everyone too who stopped to browse.
We’ll have to see what next year brings and  we may go back to the Wade House for this sale, again in August of 2009

Good Morning!  Just a quick post before we set off for the Wade House.  Just checked the weather again online, YES!  It’s for sure a beautiful day in store for us today.  We’re packed and ready to go.  Hope to see you there!  :-)

Been busy in the evenings this week getting things ready for the Wade House Arts & Crafts sale this week Sunday.  From the weather forecast it is sounding extremely promising…Yeah!  In the mid 70’s and sunny, sure can’t ask for anything better than that!
I just received the bags I ordered, for when someone makes a purchase at the shows, so those came in good time.  Also the suction cups for the lightcatchers I bought came too, I try to remember to give one with each lightcatcher at shows too.  If you’re there and I happen to forget, just remind me.
Been busy in the workshop, putting the finishing touches on a few new pieces.  3 inch square teal colored bevels, that I did some etching of butterflies, dragonflies, and hearts.  Now adding some bits and pieces to them, then they are ready to go.
My husband has had the printer hopping, making me more price tags, and business cards to pass out.  Yes this really is a ‘joint effort’.  I owe alot of credit to him, he manages my website, designed my logo, (and it had to pass my approval of course), and he is the one who is my helper at shows.  We are up at the crack of dawn,….or before,  he is always been there for me and with me.  So a BIG round of applause goes out to him!  He is the one who is always with me in my booth too at the shows, so say “hi” to him too when you see us out there.
  Well enough said for today……..
Have a Great Friday tomorrow.  :-)

Here are a few of the latest Dragonflies in my flock.  They will be flying to the Wade House sale next Sunday with us, and up for sale.  I am really excited about being accepted into this juried show, and fingers crossed hoping for good weather on the day.  Anyone coming out there will be able to tour the grounds and various buildings too.  There will be good food, arts & crafts vendors, and a good day out for the family.

I made a few more of the dragonflies this week, 1 large with a blue body, 1 large with a teal body, 1 small with a clear but green streaks running through the glass body, 1 small in teal opaque body…whew!  I also have a large dragonfly ready for soldering on the workbench right now, he has a green body, and the glass nuggets have white streaks running through them, he will be finished today.
After the dragonflies, I’ll be moving on to other items.  Not sure where the glass cutter will lead me next.  Please keep checking back and see what I’ve posted, feel free to write something on here too.  I will have the dragonflies next weekend at the Wade House sale on Sunday the 24th, see you there!

Just received the letter today, I’ve been accepted into this juried show for their annual Wade House Arts & Crafts Weekend.  Only handmade items are accepted.  Here is the link for anyone interested in viewing it, and getting the facts straight from the ‘horses mouth’.   http://wadehouse.wisconsinhistory.org/Events/EventDetail/Event202.aspx
  Hope to see you there!

In the workshop I’ve been busy working on some etched pieces.  And the dragonfly inventory has diminished greatly in the past couple Saturdays at Elkhart Lake so I am making more of those too.  I’ll also probably make some butterflies if time allows before the weekend.  Working 10 hour days at my day job kind of cramps my style!   ;-)

It certainly was a gorgeous day, perfect blue sky, and wonderful temperatures.  After having a week off it was nice to get back to business.  My husband and I have a real routine worked out now prepping, and setting up, and taking down for the Artisans Market.  He enjoys helping me….no he’s not just saying that, lol.  He also designed and manages my website, along with my logo.  All his knowledge from working in the print business for some 20+ years, and the college computer course has helped greatly.
Yesterday there were plenty, bold colored, beautiful bouquets of flowers being carried by people at the market all morning, bags of fresh veggies too.
More of my stained glass pieces found new owners yesterday, this means I need to spend more time back in the workshop.  Which is a good thing, I love being there,… it sure beats my day job!  Wish I could retire tomorrow, I know I could fill my days.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by.
