October 2010

Here are some small pieces, just to dress up a wall.
Dried/pressed flowers sandwiched between the glass on display.
  Nice………………..  😉  🙂

This week has been pretty tough, my Father passed away, after being ill for sometime.  However we had a beautiful service for him this afternoon, he will sadly be missed, may he rest in peace now, love you Dad!
My son had to go in for a follow up procedure, the same morning we lost my Dad, for the brain anuerysm he had.  Checking it out with cameras to see how it was healing.  We could not have received better news from the Dr.!  The Dr. was extremely pleased with how he is healing!   This was his 3-month point since he initially was rushed by ambulance from his home to nearest hospital, then Flight For Life to a major hospital and there surgery then hospitalized for 2 weeks in ICU and we almost lost him.
Whew…… hoping things settle a bit now.  I could use a break.  Really been missing  the stained glass in my workshop.  I feel the need to get creative once again!  Stay tuned for more projects………………soon I hope.   😉

upclose pictures of my Gingko Panel.   What do you think?  I did texture on the branch, added brass wire on the leaves for veining affect, mottled green glass in the leaves.

This is a panel I have always wanted to make, and here it is!   🙂  What are your thoughts?  Yea or Nay?

 Here’s my latest ‘experiment’.
Picked some sprigs from our cedar trees, using 2 pieces of SpectrumCOE 96 and firing this in my glass kiln.  The results are pretty neat aren’t they?  It is like etching into the glass, giving that 3-D affect, and feel.  I can see potential for this piece appearing in an upcoming stained glass piece I will be making.  Stay tuned for the results…………………..  🙂

The outdoor markets are over for the season, time to relax, wind down, and enjoy………Winter?  Did I say that?!?!  The shovelling, the cold, the icy car windows, heating bills, shorter days….BUT, this is my time to be in the workshop, new ideas, new techniques, and you guessed it…..NEW and exciting pieces for the upcoming season of 2011.
After my recent week away, shopping for glass at Kokomo, Indiana at  www.kog.com  .   What a great time I had, handpicking everything I bought!  Each and every piece holds so much potential, beauty, absolutely awesome color, allowing me to bring total uniqueness in the pieces I produce and bring to my customers…you!  🙂
Then traveling up to Lansing, Michigan to www.delphiglass.com , for the 3-day Glass Fusing Class, and of course some shopping just had to be done there as well  🙂 .  I have even more ideas of new creations for this winter.
Keep looking here on my blog over the winter.
You will be able to get sneak peeks (with occasional photos I post), and read my posts.
Write to me, I’d love to hear your comments and responses.
